While the Denver Nuggets were playing the Indiana Pacers last night, LeBron James and Kevin Durant were busy drafting teams “playground style” for the 2021 All-Star game.
Nikola Jokic was selected seventh overall by LeBron and joins a starting lineup alongside James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry and Luka Doncic. Team Durant consists of a starting lineup of Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beal, and Jayson Tatum (Durant’s injury replacement).

Reactions to the draft were mostly positive and in favor of Team LeBron, which is loaded with talent in the starting lineup. When Jokic himself was notified following the win at Indiana, he said “That’s a pretty good team, I’m not going to lie.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a pretty great reaction himself:
This is the second year now that Jokic has been drafted to Team LeBron after James selected him 14th in 2020. Jokic was taken 11th overall in 2019 by Team Giannis. While it would’ve been nice to see the Joker taken a bit higher than seventh, at least he wasn’t taken last.
The game takes place this Sunday in Atlanta at 5:00 pm MST on TNT.
