The NBA draft is over and so the NBA offseason has officially begun. That’s not to say that there won’t be plenty of exciting things ahead. In just two weeks the newest Denver Nuggets will take the floor for Las Vegas Summer League and the Denver Stiffs will be there to cover all of the action including interviews, podcasts, and game/player breakdowns.
In the meantime, here are some Nuggets news and notes from around the web.
I got a chance to interview Michael Malone last Friday on Mile High Sports radio. My friend Gil Whitely was kind enough to have me on the show for an hour and in that hour coach Malone called in to discuss the newest additions to the roster. He was emphatic that he remains impressed with Gary Harris and that the starting spot is his to lose.
Kevin O'Connor is one of the best NBA draft guys on the web and should absolutely be on your twitter follow list. He wrote a great article with a fun "Tinder" angle on guys that fit perfectly with their new teams and guess who made the "swipe right" list?
With the No. 19 pick, he’s a perfect player on which to take a chance. The Nuggets are building something special and Beasley could end up as a central part. His pairing with Emmanuel Mudiay works on so many levels, so don’t be surprised if he beats out incumbent Gary Harris and No. 7 pick Jamal Murray. It’s hard not to be encouraged by Beasley.
ESPN Insider's Chad Ford gave the Nuggets an A for the draft.
In a league where shooting comes at a premium, the Nuggets landed four impressive shooters. Murray and Beasley are arguably two of the three best shooters in the draft.
Sam Vecine graded every single pick in the draft and the Nuggets wound up with four B's.
Upside and Motor did a breakdown of Juancho Hernangomez a month ago. Sounds like he is really skilled but needs to improve his decision making. The author of this article seems to like his game a lot but sees him as a bit of a tweener and a project early on.
Hernangomez has a decent skill set, and while he’s not quite ready to be an NBA player as of yet, there are tools here that could make him an intriguing stash option for a team picking in the late 1st or early 2nd round.
Doesn’t look like Kenneth Faried will be on the team USA roster. But Emmanuel Mudiay and Gary Harris will get to showcase their talent on the Select team.

Jamal Murray joined altitude radio. Jamal says he's never been to Denver before but expects "clouds." Someone needs to tell him that the "300" on the Nuggets court stands for 300 days of sunshine. Also, his favorite movie is SHARK TALE.
Malik beasley also went on Altitude Radio to discuss joining the Nuggets. Of all the guys so far, I like Malik's interviews the best. He seems like a really hard working guy. Can't wait to see what he brings to the team.
Nuggets fan, Antoine James did a nice photoshop of Jamal Murray in a Nuggets jersey and it's pretty sick! Check out his Instagram page for more like it.
