Nikola Jokic is averaging 23.4 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists in just 29.6 minutes per game in January. Which instantly makes you wonder: How much All-Star buzz will Jokic be generating one year from now? In Denver's rout of Orlando last week, he became the first Nugget to post a 30-point, 15-rebound, 5-assist and 3-steal game since Carmelo Anthony way back in March 2007. Then he followed up with 29 points in a road win over the Lakers, 35 in a loss at San Antonio and 19 points and 10 boards in just 21 minutes in an easy win over the banged-up Clippers. Denver's playoff credentials might remain suspect, no matter what the standings say, but Jokic? The real deal.

NBA (John Schuhmann)

Nikola Jokic had the three highest scoring games of his career (30, 29, and 35 points) last week and for the season, the Nuggets have scored 10.7 more points per 100 possessions with him on the floor (113.3) than with him off the floor (102.6). But they can't build a comfortable lead for eighth place in the West or anything close to a .500 record if they can't get stops, which they haven't been able to do whether he's on the floor or not. They rank second offensively (ahead of the Warriors), but 30th defensively since Jokic was moved into the starting lineup on Dec. 15.

I feel like every other Nuggets blurb here has to do with Nikola Jokic, but he just led the team in scoring in six straight appearances and has emerged as one of the league’s more prolific stat-stuffing bigs. Denver’s starting to play better at the right time, too: 3–2 in a five-game week ain’t bad.

CBS Sports (Matt Moore)

Nikola Jokic is a revelation, and they've played much better the past two weeks. But their late-game execution is like watching that girl from "The Ring" crawl out of the well. You just shield your eyes and start to cry.
