The Denver Nuggets are offically back. Media day has come and gone, training camp is well underway, and the first preseason game is Monday. For Nuggets fans, the start of the NBA season means we once again get to enjoy watching our favorite team and our favorite players for the first time in six months. It’s a great feeling, and for me personally, this time of the year has always felt like a holiday. For the players, and especially for the rookies, it’s an entirely different level of excitement. Malik Beasley voiced his thoughts about the upcoming 2016-2017 NBA season in an Instagram post that he shared to Twitter on Monday.

For Beasley, the start of this season represents the accomplishment of a lifelong goal. It’s not just another season, it’s the start of a career. It’s also a reminder that the real work is just beginning, which he alludes to in the caption. It’s good to know he’s not satisfied with making it this far and that he recognizes the importance of continuing to put in hard work in order to succeed at the highest level. Being a rookie on a pretty deep team will present plenty of challenges, but it sounds like Beasley is prepared and ready to take them on.
For Nuggets fans, we should be excited to see Beasley, along with the other rookies, live out their dream next season. When the preseason tips off and Beasley first takes the court on Monday against the Toronto Raptors in Calgary, he’s probably going to be thinking about all of the years of dedication that has gotten him to that point. Beasley’s post should remind us as onlookers that this game is not just our passion-it’s a dream come true for the players.
