If you’ve been on twitter recently you no doubt have noticed that screenshots taken from NBA2k Australia are shedding light on the appearance of the “Statement” alternative jerseys of every NBA team. The Denver Nuggets are no exception. Conrad Burry (@conradburry on twitter) of SportsLogos.Net has been leaking every jersey over the past two days. After a sneak peak yesterday, today he is giving us snapshots of the full “Statement” jersey for the Nuggets.

The design is obviously derived from the yellow skyline alternate jerseys the Nuggets have been wearing for a few seasons. Those jerseys tended to be one of the more polarizing ones out there, generally because of the bold yellow color scheme, so these are likely to get mixed reviews from the fans.
The first noticeable difference is the horizontal striping that made up the skyline and backdrop which was a throwback reference to the 1980s skyline jerseys has been removed in favor of a yellow skyline that blends in with the rest of the jersey. The second noticeable difference is the Marquette style horizontal striping on the side of the shorts has now been replaced with less busy color blocks.

This jersey design is in line with what we’ve seen in the official releases of the Nuggets Icon and Association jerseys. For the most part they are very similar to last years design with some minor but noticeable tweaks. The biggest change so far has been the departure from the powder blue jerseys in favor of a navy blue motif. With that in mind, it would not be surprising if the fourth and final jersey released is similar to the Nuggets White Gold jerseys. Those seemed to be fairly popular (despite a resemblance to a Hanes undershirt) and sticking with the clean white design, while somewhat disappointing because that would mean no drastic changes to Denver’s jerseys, wouldn’t be the worst way Nike could go.
There have been no official releases of the “Statement” jersey by any team and it’s not clear if this jersey is the one that is inspired by the community, or the athletes mindset: words Nike used to describe the two alternates each team would be getting. There also has been no word as to when the Nuggets plan on officially releasing the two alternate jerseys, though it’s possible they won’t be released until after the season begins.
What say you Nuggets fans? Are these jersey’s ending up in your rotation?
