Nikola Jokic had a rare off-night shooting the basketball, but still helped lead the Denver Nuggets to a much-needed road victory on a back-to-back against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Joker made only six of twenty shots from the field, and most of those from the paint, but his constant dishes to Jamal Murray (who scored 22 points) were great to see as they helped clear the way for Murray to attack the hoop.
Jokic even had a pick and roll dunk off a feed from Murray, which isn’t something Denver fans see executed every day. Jokic might have struggled with his shot, but he stayed aggressive which is something Denver needs from him – especially when the team is on the road and just played last night. The Nuggets built up a big lead and then had to hang on in the second half, but learning that tenacity is a big part of this season. Murray and Jokic running some effective pick and rolls and getting their two man game working is one of the things that could help Denver immensely going forward, so it was good to see them working both sides of that equation.
