Nuggets coach George Karl did an interview with 104.3 The Fan’s Scott Hastings today. The interview was pretty standard offseason sports talk stuff, but one thing that was intriguing was Karl implying that the Nuggets will play even more relentlessly this season. In his words “…trying to prove the world wrong that you can run and win in the NBA”. This tells me that the Nuggets have assembled a squad they think will consistently run for 48 minutes. The question is, can they do that sort of thing for 82 games in a season?
It's an interesting proposition, and history dictates that a "running" team will have difficulty winning in the playoffs. Can the Nuggets play with pace and still run a half-court offense when they get slowed down? These are the questions that need to be answered.
