Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports got an exclusive quote from Nuggets Team President and Governor Josh Kroenke about the status of Brian Shaw as coach, and the New York Knicks reported interest in him.
This is what Kroenke told Woj:
"Brian has said publicly – and privately to us – that his desire is to be here, and we feel strongly about him as our coach," Kroenke told Yahoo Sports. "I don't foresee a scenario or circumstance where he's going to be anywhere but with the Nuggets next season."
This is about as definitive an answer as you are going to get about Brian Shaw’s status as Nuggets coach. Maybe this will stop the rumors from coming out of New York, but it’s not likely. Until Phil Jackson hires a new head coach, this will keep coming back around. All anyone can do is grin and bear it and hope that it ends eventually.
