Lets talk the NBA playoffs. Or as I like to call it, the first round sweep-athon … as all but one of the series is either 3-0 or 2-0. So … yeah. Hoping that the next round is ummm … more competitive.
So, today's slate is this
Atlanta Hawks at Brooklyn Nets – I fully expect Atlanta to win this series and they are currently up 2-0, but Brooklyn has exposed some very serious flaws in the Hawks armor. If Deron Williams was anywhere close to a competent player anymore this series may be 1-1 going into Brooklyn. As it stands I don’t think the Nets are a good enough team to exploit their advantages (ie: Brook Lopez) over the Hawks.
Chicago Bulls at Milwaukee Bucks – Bulls up 3-0. Not much of a “home court” for the Bucks as Chicago Fans fill up half the arena. This series has been the tear-inducing return of the Derrick Rose we all know and love. Milwaukee has fought hard but has come up seriously short on the offensive end. They have some nice players but no real standout. Maybe next season when Jabari Parker returns…
Golden State Warriors at New Orleans Pelicans – Ummm … Stephen Curry. That’s all you need to know. Look for the Dubs to close out the series tonight. The time for Anthony Davis is down the road.
Memphis Grizzlies at Portland Trail Blazers – 2-0 Griz. It’s kind of sad what injuries can do. We as Nuggets fans know all about that as a long trail from Calvin Natt through LaPhonso Ellis to Danilo Gallinari. The Blazers lost their heart and soul when Wesley Matthews went down with an injury. Followed by Arron Afflalo. Now, it appears that Afflalo will be back tonight but I don’t think it will be enough. The Griz have already established how dominant they are.
Enjoy the Games!!
