Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson and his girlfriend Ashley Nicole Pettiford were both arrested back in August after a domestic dispute. The case involved broken cell phones and a verbal dispute, but has been dismissed in Arapahoe County Court, according to Kieran Nicholson of the Denver Post.
"Based on our continued investigation and developments after the filing of the cases, we dismissed the cases in the interest of justice," said Lisa Pinto, a spokeswoman with the Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office.
Let's hope this is the last we hear from Lawson and Pettiford on any sort of domestic disputes. Lawson is the face of the Nuggets franchise and at just 25 years-old he has a bright future in Denver and has embraced the city. Keeping his name out of the headlines, for anything other than basketball, will help the city embrace the team's point guard.
Again, the case has been dismissed.
