Green was the 46th pick of the Nuggets in the 2013 draft and spent last season in Italy playing for Montepaschi Siena, where he averaged 10.9 points per game in the Italian league (44 games), 11.2 points in the Eurocup (six games), and 11.1 points in EURO play (10 games), according to Draft Express. The 6'3" point guard was a four year player at Virginia Tech, where he led the nation in scoring as a Senior with 25 points per game.
He has shown the ability to be a scoring guard who can hit the outside shot, play the mid-range game, and get to the rim (where he's a creative finisher). Green played with much more poise at Summer League last week, than he did the previous summer, he averaged 16.6 points per game, good for 17th among all players. The talk around Vegas was that Green looked a lot more comfortable running the team and he echoed those thoughts, too. Green will be expected to be the team's third point guard behind Ty Lawson and Nate Robinson.
Stay posted as we await the details of Green’s contract with the Nuggets. The signing will give the Nuggets 14 players under contract with the 15th expected to be Jusuf Nurkic, as soon as the Bosnian big man inks his rookie deal.
Green will realize his NBA dream with the Nuggets.
