What to watch for:

1.) Jordan Hamilton’s play: The third year guard will get a fresh start under new head coach Brian Shaw and it’ll be interesting to see what he’s working on out here in Las Vegas. Hamilton was free to shoot a lot of three-pointers last season in Vegas, but will we see some improved shot selection and defense?

2.) How does Fournier and Quincy look?

Rookies just last season, how have the two been working on their games? Fournier showed some serious ball handling skills last season – enough for George Karl to use him as a backup point guard at times – and an ability to shoot the three, but also get to the rim. He moves well without the ball, but must become a smarter defender. He’s aggressive on the defensive end, but that can lead to foul trouble.

Miller has been spending much of the summer in Denver working out with the coaching staff and on his own. He's working on his shooting, but needs to focus on defending. How will his body respond to increased weight? Will we see him play with increased confidence? This could be Miller's season to break into the rotation a bit, we shall see.

3.) How does Erick Green’s game fit against NBA hopefuls and draftees? Green is an exciting prospect as he led the NCAA in scoring last season, but must prove that his game will translate to the NBA level. A big reason to think it will? He can score from all over the floor and doesn’t depend on one thing to do the bulk of his scoring. He showed a tremendous knack for drawing fouls in college, with 8.3 fouls shot attempts per game his senior year at Virginia Tech, and could find success if he’s able to do that at the next level. He has a bit of an unorthodox shot, so check that out and we’ll see how his speed works in his favor as well. Pay attention to Green’s defense, too.

4.) There are a few guys on this Nuggets roster that could get training camp invites from the team or perhaps from other NBA teams. Be on the look for Releford's all-around game (especially his shooting and D), Anosike's rebounding and finishing ability in the paint (he led the NCAA on the boards the past two seasons), and Howell's game in the paint could get him an invite somewhere too.

Barone was a skilled big at Idaho, Odom is looking to stick on an NBA roster, Harangody is an interesting NBA body, and Uzoh played with Denver through training camp last season.
