In today’s episode of the Locked On Nuggets podcast, I am joined by Jeff Garcia, host of the Locked On Spurs podcast and reporter/host for various outlets including ESPN San Antonio. We each share three keys to the game for our respective teams and discuss how we think the game might go.
In taking with Jeff, I came to the realization that the two teams have a lot in common. Both teams have a lot of foreign born players, both teams rank toward the top in both ORTG and Rebound percentage over the last ten games, and both teams pass the ball extremely well. What makes the two teams different is that the Spurs are a top defensive team by nearly every metric. The Nuggets are among the worst defensive teams by nearly every metric, especially over the last 10 games.
Still, there are enough similarities to maintain a glimmer of hope for the future of this young and rebuilding team.
