At least three Denver Nuggets are going to play during All-Star Weekend, as Nikola Jokic, Emmanuel Mudiay and rookie Jamal Murray have all been selected to play in the 2017 BBVA Rising Stars Challenge in New Orleans. Both Jokic and Mudiay took place in last year’s Rising Stars Challenge (Mudiay put on a show with 30 points and 10 rebounds) and both players can show Jamal Murray the ropes. Players were selected as follows:
The NBA’s assistant coaches chose the rosters for the BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge, with each of the league’s 30 teams submitting one ballot per coaching staff. Coaches selected four guards, four frontcourt players and two players at either position group for each team. They also picked a minimum of three first-year players and three second-year players for each team.
Here is the NBA’s official release. All three will be representing the World team, alongside Kristaps Porzingis, Dante Exum, Trey Lyles, Buddy Hield, Domantas Sabonis, Dario Saric, and of course Joel Embiid.
The Rising Stars Challenge kicks off on Friday, February 17 at 7:00 PM MT on TNT. Congratulations to all three Nuggets!
