The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Los Angeles Lakers last night, completing a 4-1 series victory and earning them the right to play the red-hot San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. The good citizens of OKC then proceed to go “shooting” to celebrate their hard earned victory to earn them a WCF birth. Not the championship mind you, just a trip to the WCF … which they were in last season.
According to Pro Basketball Talk (thanks to Throwitdownbigmanthrowitdown for the article tip) even a pregnant woman was attacked in "celebration" of their advancement to the WCF … again, not the championship. This is not ok under any circumstances, and as we know Denver has is fair share of riots after Broncos Super Bowl victories or your average CU/CSU football game at Mile High Stadium (cough…tear gas…cough).
Yet, I'd like to take this opportunity to tell the good people of OKC to maybe save their "shooting" for gun ranges, or maybe just go out and get, you know, HAPPY. Not shoot people.
As for the Thunder basketball team. Congrats on advancing. Your reward is a giant steam engine known as the San Antonio Spurs. This series should be … epic. I'm very much looking forward to it.
