The Denver Nuggets are still stuck in a holding pattern with some of their bigger potential moves this offseason, but while they wait out the Peyton Watson situation they have made another move for a guard, as Shams Charania of ESPN is reporting that Denver has signed shooting guard Lonnie Walker.
Lonnie Walker returns to the NBA after a one-year overseas stint, and will likely be taking over the role that Bruce Brown had played for Denver: someone who can bring the ball up the court, infuse some energy from the bench, slash to the hoop and take open shots. Walker put up 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 23.9 minutes a game in his last season in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers. He’s still just 27 years old, and Denver isn’t afraid to add players with overseas ball on their resumes to fill out this team, for better or worse. Walker has seemed like a decent fit for this team for several years, and now we’ll get to see if that’s actually true.
