We are creeping closer and closer to the NBA draft lottery on May 19th (Stiffs party at Jake's! Details below!). Finally we will get clarity on where the Nuggets are drafting, and we can then speculate accordingly. Be on the looking for a special podcast coming a little later today!
Now let's get to this week's Nuggets stories:
1.) The Nuggets will likely extend the qualifying offer to Will Barton, according to the Denver Post. Barton had his moments off the bench for the Nuggets and could be a nice piece for that bench for years to come.
2.) Jeff Clark on Celtics Blog had a post up on Boston's potential interest in trading for Ty Lawson, you can read that by clicking here.
3.) The Nuggets roster situation is pretty clear now with Wilson Chadler's deal fully guaranteed. And after doing a little digging, Denver has until July 11th to decide on Randy Foye. That will give Denver time after the draft to determine what to do with Foye – or they could use Foye's contract in a trade to match salaries.
4.) Tom Ziller looks at the Hack-A-Shaq dilemma that these playoffs have created. I tend to think the problem isn't a big one, but worth a read.
5.) An interesting article on Deadspin about what it was like to cover the Donald Sterling era Clippers. A reporter once got to make a draft pick for the team …
