NBA skills coach Michael Messer dropped a nugget yesterday on Twitter, a minute-long video of Michael Porter Jr. draining three after three:
Of course, this is the offseason and videos of empty gym workouts are plentiful and largely meaningless (see Anthony, Carmelo). For MPJ, a career 44% (!!!) three-point shooter, of course he should be hitting wide open threes at this clip.
As Ryan Blackburn noted yesterday, however, heading into his third official season Porter is well on his way to becoming an elite player at his position. As such, any snippet into Porter’s offseason and the progress he’s making will be met with much delight from Nuggets fans. This video is certainly no exception.
With Jamal Murray sidelined for a majority of the upcoming season, Porter will yet again have an increased role in the Nuggets’ starting unit. By all accounts, it looks like he will continue to make the leap into the elite offensive player he was projected to be.
